Rational Numbers (Q)

Rational numbers is the set of numbers that can be stored 100% accurately in their decimal form (in a particular number system). They have a finite number of non-zero decimals.

  1. $\frac{1}{1} = 1.0 \equiv 1 \in N$
  2. $\frac{1}{2} = 0.5 \in Q \supset Z$
  3. $\frac{1}{2} = 0.5 \notin Z$

Translation:

  1. One divided by one is positive one with between none or a infinite number of zero decimals (a natural number)
  2. One divided by two is zero with a finite number of non-zero decimals (a rational number)
  3. One half is neither a positive or negative whole number (0.5 not in whole numbers Z)
