Dialogue about Worldviews

A short demonstration of why I believe making sentences can prove that you have a worldview. By worldview I don’t necessarily mean “Atheist”, “Christian”, “Muslim” etc.

Person A: Prove to me that I have a worldview

Person B: Do you exist?

Person A: Off course, what do you mean?

Person B: How do you know that?

Person A: Well, I think therefore I am… I guess?

Person B: Why should I prove this to you?

Person A: If you want to convince me, you better prove it…

Person B: I know that, but am I morally obligated to prove this to you?

Person A: Well, I don’t know in the absolute sense, but I believe you should

Person B: Why?

Person A: I believe people should back up their claims

Person B: So to summarize, you believe in a worldview where:

  1. You exist (metaphysics)
  2. You know that you exist beacuse you can think (epistemology)
  3. There exists others like you (metaphysics)
  4. It’s good and fitting that people prove their claims (ethics)

Person A: Sure, I guess…
