Geometry
Geometry is a conceptual framework that underlies physics. I’d argue it’s geometry that brings concepts such as space, position, distance, direction, angle, area and volume to the table. It deals with conceptual categorization and study of the relationship between mathematics and shape. A example of another field that joins geometry with something else is graph theory.
Examples of Math-Geometry Relationships
- The trignonmetric functions are geometrically defined and can only be algebraically approached.
- The mathematical operation integration is related to the geometrical concept of area.
